P-25 Phase 2 Public Safety Network for Camden NJ

V‑COMM ASSISTS WITH P-25 PHASE 2 PUBLIC SAFETY NETWORK FOR CAMDEN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY

Camden, New Jersey (May 7, 2013)— V‑COMM, a leading New Jersey based telecommunications engineering firm, assists Camden County, NJ in launching its new 700/800 MHz P-25 Phase 2 Public Safety Radio Network. V‑COMM provided independent design, radio frequency acquisition and technical specification services to Camden County. These services also included FCC licensing, DTV interference mitigation, tower site selection and specifications, dispatch center specifications, microwave system design and redundant network architecture design to provide Camden County’s First Responders mission critical reliability.

“From the beginning of this project, V‑COMM’s advice and guidance through this arduous process, couple d with its significant wireless network experience, p roved to be crucial to the Board of Chosen Freeholders in making its decisions to deploy this mission critical network,” said Louis Cappelli, Jr., Freeholder Director. “While we brought significant experience to the tab le for this project, it was the foresight of the Freeholder Board, as well as the great team at the County’s Public Safety complex that helped bring this to fruit ion” explained Dominic Villecco, President of V‑COMM, “a s a life-long resident of the County, I am especial ly proud to be involved with such an important endeavor for all of the residents.”

The network was officially launched May 6, 2013; however, the Voorhees Police Department had been on the network since April with great results. The network plan also includes subway coverage in Camden City tunnels as well as expanded in-building coverage throughout the County. This new network employs the latest technologies available to the public safety community including complete interoperability throughout the State of New Jersey with interconnection to the State’s 7 00/800 MHz network. All digital voice technology, a s well as an all Internet Protocol (IP) backbone, gives Camden County a new platform which will carry it well into the future, with the ability to serve all its municipalities, and departments.
